The opportunity As a Saab 340 First Officer, you will operate in a professional, multi-crew IFR environment, supporting safe, on-time flights across domestic and cross-border routes. Expect a variety of sectors, weather, and airspace, along with comprehensive ground, simulator, and line training to set you up for success on type.
What you'll do Execute all phases of flight as Pilot Monitoring/Pilot Flying in accordance with company SOPs and regulations.
Conduct thorough preflight preparation, performance and weight-and-balance, briefings, and checklists with strong CRM.
Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and ground teams to ensure safe, effective turnarounds.
Maintain situational awareness in complex, IFR airspace and changing weather conditions.
Uphold security requirements, including eligibility for and adherence to RAIC protocols.
Participate in recurrent training, checking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum requirements Total time: 500 hours
License required: IATRA, IR, ME
Accepted licenses: TCCA
Currency: IATRA must be completed within last 18 months
Medical: Class 1
ICAO ELP level: 4 (minimum)
Type rating: Not required - training provided
Additional requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC; ability to travel to/from the United States without restrictions; flexibility to work varying shifts; ability to travel away from home, including overnights
Work authorization: Visa sponsorship not provided; candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred experience Type rating on Saab 340 or other turbine aircraft.
Multi-crew, multi-engine, IFR, and/or turbine experience in CARs 600/702/703/704/705 operations or military equivalents.
Flight Instructor background considered with 1000+ hours total time.
