Ml6 is assisting our client in the search for a Maintenance Manager to join a well-established global manufacturing organization in Saskatoon, SK. The company is a recognized leader in sustainable chemical solutions, serving industries including pulp & paper, and water treatment industries.
This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who can provide strategic direction while remaining hands-on and engaged with plant operations. The successful candidate will play an important role in driving equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, continuous improvement, and long-term capital planning.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the overall maintenance strategy and activities for the Saskatoon manufacturing facility.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, control maintenance costs, and optimize spare parts inventory.
Lead maintenance planning, budgeting, capital planning, production outage planning, and cost management.
Oversee maintenance capital projects from long-term planning through execution and reporting.
Support site growth, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, ethical, and contractor requirements.
Lead key people initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, training, talent development, succession planning, and skills development.
Monitor maintenance, production, reliability, and quality performance metrics and implement improvements where required.
Build strong relationships with employees, contractors, vendors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Support the Plant Manager with regulatory and external stakeholder communications.
Develop and maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Provide hands-on technical and operational support when required.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Pulp & Paper Engineering.
6-10 years of experience in plant operations and/or maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
5+ years of maintenance/plant operations leadership experience, including team leadership.
Strong experience with budgeting, cost management, capital planning, and financial decision-making.
Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
Robust analytical, troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with vendors and contractors; negotiation experience is an asset.
Labour negotiation experience is required for applicable sites.
Strong understanding of health and safety, environmental compliance, process safety, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with Responsible Care, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity, Incident Investigation, MOC, CMMS, ERP systems, and applicable industry codes is preferred.
Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
