Take on a critical role as a Health and Safety Coordinator at Hecla's Keno Hill mine in Yukon. Focus on implementing vital safety regulations in a challenging yet rewarding mining workplace.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Supervisor, you will assist in the development and oversight of safety initiatives that protect team members while ensuring compliance with legal standards. Your daily tasks will include conducting site inspections, maintaining training records, and providing hands-on coaching to promote safety awareness. This remote position features a fly-in, fly-out schedule, making it suitable for candidates from key regions in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete job hazard analysis for safety improvements
• Develop and lead safety training programs
• Maintain detailed records of safety training conducted
• Conduct site inspections and audits for risk evaluation
• Participate in the creation of emergency response procedures
Requirements:
• 1-5 years of relevant mining experience
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation required
• Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract
• Pre-employment series of tests mandatory
