New Toronto Food
Ontario
The Produce Counter (TPC) is a progressive, family-owned food processing company with a sharp focus on fresh produce and specialty ingredients. We are a recognized brand and we are relentless in our pursuit of being the most trusted, forward-thinking distributor in the province. We move fast, obsess the details, and take pride in making it happen for our clients, every single day.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a driven, commercially minded Business Development Executive (BDE) to join our Client Services (Sales) team. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of sales, account management, and operations — responsible for owning the full client relationship from onboarding through long-term growth.
The right candidate will be equal parts relationship-builder and data analyst: someone who can walk a chef through a new ordering guide with the same confidence they bring to identifying a pricing opportunity buried in a velocity report. You will partner closely with Sales, Procurement, and Logistics to deliver best-in-class client experience across a diverse portfolio of accounts across Ontario.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Client Ownership & Revenue Growth
Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of accounts owing to day-to-day communication, overall satisfaction, and relationship health.
Proactively identify upsell, cross-sell, and retention opportunities; partner with the Business Development Manager to act on them with a clear plan.
Lead client kick-off calls, periodic business reviews, and strategic touchpoints to ensure alignment and drive account growth.
2. Account Onboarding & Campaign Execution
Project-manage the full onboarding of new accounts — coordinating across Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Operations to ensure a seamless and professional launch experience.
Build and maintain customized order guides, pricing proposals, and product assortment recommendations tailored to each client's menu, volume, and business needs.
Monitor campaign milestones and communicate status clearly to internal and external stakeholders; elevate issues early and proactively.
Leverage Excel and internal tools to analyze account-level sales data, build velocity reports, and surface insights that inform retention and upsell strategy.
Track and evaluate key service metrics including Contract Pricing accuracy, Order Fill rate, On-Time Delivery, Invoice Accuracy, and Case Fill — conduct root cause analysis on gaps and drive resolution with Logistics and Operations.
Maintain accurate account records and pipeline activity in internal CRM and order management systems.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the internal voice of the client — channeling product feedback, service gaps, and market insights to the relevant teams across the organization.
Collaborate with Procurement to source specialty or non-standard products outside of Bondi's core assortment to fulfill unique client requirements.
Support the Product team with user feedback and insights related to new tools and platform updates.
Function as a key liaison across Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Purchasing — ensuring internal alignment on client priorities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
10+ years in B2B account management, business development, and client services in foodservice, fresh produce, food distribution, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
Strong commercial instincts: you know how to grow a book of business, handle objections, and position value with sophisticated, time-pressured buyers.
Advanced Excel proficiency — pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis are second nature. Experience with CRM or order management tools is an asset.
Exceptional communicator: you can distill complex data into a clear, compelling client story and hold your own in a room full of chefs and operators.
Highly organized and deadline-driven — you manage competing priorities across multiple accounts without missing a beat.
Genuine passion for food and the foodservice industry. Familiarity with Toronto's restaurant and hospitality scene is a meaningful differentiator.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where initiative is rewarded and no two days look the same.
WHAT WE OFFER
Compensation: $100,000 – $140,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
Competitive benefits package - health, dental, and vision
Paid vacation
A energetic, collaborative work environment where innovation is encouraged
Opportunities for growth and advancement as the company scales
OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION

We encourage applications from all qualified individuals without regard to race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, marital status, veteran status, disability, age, religion, or any other classification protected by applicable law.
