Job Description
As a Quotations & Operations Specialist, you will interact with engineers, contractors, business owners and interpret project requirements to create competitive quotations and submittal packages. You will provide exceptional customer service to secure sales and meet or exceed gross‑profit targets. You will negotiate with vendors for optimal pricing, delivery, and terms, ensuring high order fill rates and customer satisfaction. You will analyze and manage processes, solve problems, and continually strive for productivity improvements, implementing change and training teammates.
Additional Duties
Interpret complex information, including civil plans, to determine customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and create high levels of customer satisfaction.
Create accurate and professional quotation packages from customer specifications/drawings using applicable software.
Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with both vendors and customers; expedite orders when required.
Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve process effectiveness.
Investigate customer and vendor problems, resolving pricing shortfalls and material returns in a timely manner.
Support the Profit Centre Team as an expert in project and operation specifics.
Schedule and train teammates to ensure efficient, effective, and profitable operations at the Profit Centre.
Analyze data and implement strategies to increase sales, improve operating efficiencies, manage assets, and increase ROI and profit sharing with the sales team and Profit Centre Manager.
Review daily sales reports and address issues immediately.
Manage the annual physical inventory count, ensuring it is done efficiently and accurately.
Resolve all customer, vendor, and carrier complaints and disputes quickly and effectively.
Understand and follow all safety regulations at all customer locations and at the Profit Centre.
Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager.
Qualifications
College and/or University degree.
A minimum of 2 years of wholesale distribution experience.
Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong work ethic and high integrity.
Create a positive team environment, training and inspiring teammates.
High energy and strong communication skills to build relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates.
Able to interpret performance data to determine efficacy and act for maximum profitability.
Capability to learn and operate the applicable software system.
Intermediate math skills.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Preferred Skills
Previous experience or knowledge of Waterworks/Underground utility products sold at the Profit Centre.
Experience using Infor M3.
Additional Information
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year.
