Pursue a fulfilling career as a full time Instructor of NTEP Inuktut Language and Culture in Iqaluit, NU. Design and teach courses that deepen understanding of Inuktut and Inuit culture for prospective teachers.
Reporting to the Manager of Teacher Education Programs, your role is pivotal in shaping an educational experience that highlights bilingualism and cultural sensitivity. The position requires teaching both at Nunatta Campus and field locations throughout Nunavut, incorporating additional subjects, including teaching methods and Inuit History.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Inuktut language courses
• Evaluate student outcomes and course effectiveness
• Recommend cultural integration strategies for all programs
• Instruct other related subjects as needed
• Collaborate with Memorial University’s education faculty
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field
• Fluent in oral and written Inuktut
• Experienced in adult learning supervision
• Knowledge of Inuit culture and history
• Resident of Iqaluit is mandatory for applicants
