Be a transformative force for students as a Bridge Class Teacher in the Alternate Education Program at SD 33 Learning Center. This full time role emphasizes fostering relationships while delivering adaptable learning strategies.
In this position, you’ll work with students who need additional social and emotional support. Your efforts in implementing trauma-informed practices and integrating social-emotional learning will create a nurturing environment conducive to student success. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct core subjects with differentiation for diverse learning needs
• Foster a classroom culture built on respect and belonging
• Communicate effectively with families and involving community supports
• Embed social-emotional learning into daily planning
• Navigate planful transitions for students between educational settings
Requirements:
• Minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience
• Knowledge of BC educational philosophy and assessment
• Experience with trauma-informed and restorative practices
• Ability to integrate Indigenous knowledge into curriculum
• Valid driver's license necessary for various instructional assignments
