Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Underground Miner / Equipment Operator, whose primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently operate underground mining equipment in support of safe, productive, and continuous operations across our various mine sites. What You’ll Be Doing

Carry out the duties safely and efficiently as a collaborative team player

Take part in safety meetings and inspections, and follow standard operating procedures

Operate scoops, alpine miners, drum cutters, flexiveyors, and other mining equipment

Operate bolting and scaling machines

Install belt lines

Perform rehab work as required

Communicate with Maintenance and Operations departments

Performing other onsite duties as required

What You Bring To The Table

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

A minimum of two (2) years experience in an underground Potash setting

Training and experience running continuous miners, alpine miners, scoops, bolters, scalers and other underground mining equipment is preferred

Strong safety record and commitment to safety, teamwork, and collaboration

Ability to work both day and night shifts

A great attitude and work ethic

Commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace

Valid General Mine Safety Awareness - GMSA would be considered an asset

Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, site staff, and contractors

Must display credibility and integrity to maintain the respect of superiors, subordinates, and peers

Strong time-management skills

Solid interpersonal skills





Ability to understand and follow instructionsn>li> Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for hands-on work

Physically fit and able to safely lift and handle heavy loads as required

Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times

Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, fall protection, etc.)

Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
