Become an Assistant Professor in Urban Sustainability at the University of Ottawa, starting July 1, 2027. This role focuses on social, political, and economic dimensions of urban resilience.
The Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics offers a tenure-track role emphasizing urban sustainability and environmental change. Candidates are encouraged to engage in both teaching and research around community mobilization, urban governance, and climate adaptation. Bilingual scholars with innovative research programs are preferred, as the role requires teaching in French and English.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver courses for undergraduate and graduate students
• Conduct collaborative research and publish findings
• Engage in departmental academic and service activities
• Recruit and mentor graduate and undergraduate students
• Implement effective knowledge dissemination practices
Requirements:
• Ph.D. by July 1, 2027 in Geography or relevant field
• Strong communication in English or French

• Proven success in securing research funding
• Experience in teaching at post-secondary institutions
