Looking to a female caregiver for my mother who lives in Wetaskiwin. Our caregiving hours are funded by Alberta Self Managed Home Care. Compensation: Pay starts at $20-22/hour and may be increased after continuity with us, based on prior experience & training. Caregivers are paid biweekly. Hours/Shifts: Caregivers can select shifts that best fit their availability on a month to month basis. Monday to Sunday Mornings 7:00-9:00 or 9:30am (may be longer time for shower days) Afternoon 1:00-3:00pm Evenings 8:00-9:00pm Please note there is some flexibility in these hours if you required, this is listed here for a general outline.
Job duties:
personal care including showering and getting dressed
medication administration
toileting and bowel care (managing indwelling urinary catheter ie.



regularly emptying the collection bag - hospital home care does catheter changes)
transfers using ceiling lift track
wound care as needed
light meal prep (usually lunch/afternoon snack only)
assistance with exercises
laundry
light tidying/cleaning
appointments/errands in community on occasion
Candidate qualifications: Prior caregiving experience is an asset, but not required as training shift(s) with another caregiver will be arranged. You will be shown how to use the lift and other equipment. We are looking a reliable person, with positive communication skills, who is comfortable working independently. Candidates are asked to provide a copy of a criminal record check recent within the last 6 months upon hire. Please provide your resume and a copy of your references.
