Become a critical link in the Facilities Department as a Temporary Building Operator at BCGEU. Your technical skills will enforce safety and operational efficiency in our buildings across British Columbia.
The role necessitates close collaboration with the Director of Facilities and other team members to ensure that the 13 operational buildings are maintained effectively. Daily tasks will include monitoring building systems, managing work orders through CMMS, and responding promptly to emergency situations, impacting the safety of BCGEU members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain facility systems including HVAC and plumbing
• Conduct scheduled inspections and monitor safety systems
• Handle emergency responses for urgent facility needs
• Manage the issuance of keys and security access
• Maintain tools and equipment inventory accuracy
Requirements:
• Eight years of relevant experience in building operations
• A Class 4 Power Engineer's Certificate is required
• Experience with asbestos management plans
• Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance
• Must have a valid B.C. Driver's Licence
