Job Description Aramark is currently seeking Cooks for the Food Services Department at Bishop?s University.
Position Cook
Location Bishop?s University (2600 College Street, Sherbrooke, QC J1M 1Z7)
Full-Time Schedule Variable schedule, 35 to 40 hours per week
Salary (Full-Time) $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience and to be discussed during the interview
Part-Time Schedule Variable schedule, 15 to 20 hours per week
Salary (Part-Time) $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and to be discussed during the interview
Start Date Immediate
Job Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
Prepare daily menu items.
Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment. Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, cutting, and peeling food items.
Ensure proper portioning and maintain quality standards in accordance with Aramark requirements.
Demonstrate creativity while meeting client expectations and requirements.
Help optimize food costs.
Participate in meal service.
Complete production, temperature, waste, and other required records.
Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies and procedures, and MAPAQ requirements.
Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
Catering experience is considered an asset.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
MAPAQ Food Safety and Sanitation Certificate is an asset.
Ability to perform well under pressure during peak service periods.
Robust customer service skills.
Positive attitude.
Culinary diploma is considered an asset.
