This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 27 August 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 3 September 2026.
Duties And Responsibilities
Participating as a member of the inter-disciplinary Crisis Intervention Team, the Registered Nurse, CIT, is responsible for evidenced based, trauma informed and compassionate crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment and care for patients referred for mental health concerns. As an individual practitioner, you are required to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice and maintain nursing records.
Qualifications
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
- Three years current acute psychiatric nursing experience required;
- CNA Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing preferred;
- Completion of Crisis Prevention Training course, or completion within 1 month of hire.
- Current BCLS certificate is required;
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;
- Current advanced psychiatric nursing experience related to crisis intervention required;
- Proven to have excellent knowledge of psychiatric medication options;
- Proven ability to have excellent interviewing, assessment, and communication skills;
- Proven knowledge of Community Mental Health Resources required;
- Demonstrated commitment to patient focused philosophy of care and anti-stigma practices;
- Demonstrated strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
- BScN is required
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area;
