Kennedy CPA is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team.

As a manager, you will work closely with the firm’s leadership, guide engagement quality, support team development, and help deliver thoughtful accounting and tax solutions to owner-managed businesses.
Role and Responsibilities
Accounting Manager
· Primarily review compilation, review, and audit engagement files, including working papers, financial statements, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
· Review corporate and personal income tax returns, information slips, and related compliance filings.
· Prepare selected technical or complex engagements where manager-level involvement is appropriate.
· Identify accounting, assurance, and tax issues; research and document practical solutions; and escalate significant matters to the firm’s leadership.
· Manage engagement workflow, priorities, deadlines,
and budgets across a portfolio of clients.
· Provide clear review notes, coaching, and technical guidance to accounting staff.
· Communicate directly with clients to gather information, explain results, resolve questions, and support strong long-term relationships.
· Support quality control, standardized processes, and the effective use of cloud accounting and paperless workflow tools.
· Assist with client onboarding, practice development, and other firm initiatives as required.
Skills and Experience
· Strong public practice experience with compilation, review and audit engagements.
· Sound knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, financial statement presentation, and corporate and personal tax compliance.
· Demonstrated ability to review engagement files, exercise professional judgment, and resolve technical issues.
· Experience managing multiple files, deadlines, and competing priorities.
· Clear written and verbal communication and a practical, service-focused approach with clients.
· Ability to coach and support team members through constructive review feedback.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, CaseWare or comparable engagement software, and tax preparation software.
· Experience with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, and comfort working in a paperless environment.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
· Canadian CPA designation.
· At least two years of post-designation public practice experience.
· Experience reviewing compilation, review, and audit engagements.
· Previous experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, or managing accounting staff is preferred.
Salary
· $90,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
