: As a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain, and enhance recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.
Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.

Education
- Mental Health & Addictions Counselling Diploma
- or a related Health Sciences field
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrates knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on family units
- Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community
- Demonstrates knowledge of a Holistic Addiction Treatment Model
- Knowledge in group dynamics
- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
- Ability to organize work load demands
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
- Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field.
- Knowledge Transtheoretical Model of Change
- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
