Role Description The Admissions Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based at the Calgary, AB campus. This role is responsible for guiding prospective learners through the admissions process, including responding to inquiries, conducting admissions interviews, and providing accurate information about programs, requirements, tuition, and financial options.
The Admissions
Advisor meets with potential students in person and by phone, assesses their interests and goals, and recommends suitable programs while ensuring adherence to institutional policies and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include following up with leads, maintaining detailed records in the admissions system, coordinating campus tours and information sessions, and collaborating with academic and student services teams to support a smooth onboarding experience. The role also involves meeting enrollment targets, participating in recruitment events, and representing the colleges in a professional and ethical manner.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills,
with a focus on building rapport, providing guidance, and supporting diverse prospective learners respectfully.
- Candidates should possess Student Recruiting skills, such as lead follow-up, outreach, and the ability to match learner goals with appropriate programs.
- Candidates should possess Training skills, including the ability to explain processes, orient new students, and deliver information sessions or presentations.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills, including consultative selling, needs assessment, and working toward enrollment targets in an ethical manner.
- Post-secondary education in business, education, counseling, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in admissions, recruitment, or customer-facing roles in education or related sectors is preferred.
- Proficiency with CRM or student information systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office) is beneficial.
- Ability to work in office in Calgary, AB, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
