About the Role

East Airdrie Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinic. The successful candidate will provide patient-centred primary care and manage their own clinical practice, including independent billing and documentation responsibilities.

This opportunity is well suited to an NP who values autonomy, continuity of care, and cooperative practice in a community medical clinic.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions within the NP’s scope of practice.
- Develop treatment plans and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and counselling.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other care providers.
- Manage independent billing, claims submission, and related administrative documentation.
- Follow all applicable Alberta regulatory, privacy, documentation, and billing requirements.




- Participate in clinic policies and quality-improvement activities.

Qualifications

- Current registration in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Eligible to practise as an NP in Alberta.
- Current professional liability insurance.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Demonstrated experience in primary care, family practice, or community health.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the clinic team.
- Experience with independent billing and electronic medical records is an asset.
- Current police/vulnerable sector check, if required.
