Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Advanced Manufacturing Assistant (Mechanical Engineering Co-op Role) to join our innovative team. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, system design, and project management within a fast-growing organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mechanical engineering, eager to develop technical skills, and ready to contribute to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities

- Support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, and MicroStation
- Assist in drafting schematics, technical drawings, and system schematics for production equipment and infrastructure projects
- Contribute to project management activities by updating schedules with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel, tracking progress, and supporting timelines
- Collaborate on system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation equipment
- Participate in construction inspection activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards




- Help maintain documentation related to product development, maintenance procedures, and technical reports using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Engage in laboratory testing, data analysis using MATLAB or Python, and support product development initiatives

Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related program with a strong academic record
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in manufacturing or construction environments
- Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Civil 3D, Revit, or MicroStation is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts including schematics and system design
- Experience with project management tools like Microsoft Project or Microsoft Outlook is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities including French are advantageous
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, maintenance practices, and construction inspection processes is beneficial
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MATLAB or Python for analysis tasks
- Ability to work effectively in team settings while demonstrating leadership qualities; excellent organizational skills and time management are essential
