Service Technician – Agricultural Equipment

$20–$35/hour based on experience and skill level

Build it. Fix it. Figure it out.

Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving mechanical problems, and figuring out how equipment works?

Embro Farm Systems Inc. is looking for a Service Technician who takes pride in getting the job done right.

This is a varied, hands-on service role where no two days are exactly the same. You may spend one day troubleshooting a manure pump in the shop, the next repairing equipment on a customer farm, and another diagnosing a hydraulic or electrical issue on agricultural equipment.

If you like variety, independence, and solving problems that don't always come with an obvious answer, you'll fit right in here.

What You'll Do

Diagnose & Repair

- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Diagnose and repair agricultural and industrial equipment
- Work on manure pumps, scrapers, separators, feeding systems, housing systems, and other agricultural equipment
- Use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify problems and determine the best repair
- Perform welding and fabrication when required

Prevent Problems Before They Happen

- Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new or rebuilt equipment
- Identify potential issues before they turn into expensive breakdowns
- Recommend repairs or maintenance when potential problems are identified

On-Farm Service

- Travel to customer farms to perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose equipment problems in the field and determine practical solutions
- Work directly with customers to understand equipment issues
- Provide professional, dependable service
- Work safely around livestock, machinery, and active farm operations

Keep Things Organized

- Complete daily work orders and service reports
- Accurately record labour, parts, and service details
- Work with the Parts Department to identify and source required parts
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, and shop equipment

- Support and mentor junior team members when needed

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is mechanically minded, dependable, and comfortable figuring things out.

- 2–5 years of experience in agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or mechanical repair
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage service jobs in the field
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools
- A safety-minded, professional approach to your work
- Positive communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

Experience That Will Set You Apart Experience in any of the following is an asset:

- Agricultural equipment and farm systems
- Manure systems
- Livestock housing and feeding systems
- Welding and fabrication
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- Electrical troubleshooting

You don't need to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone with a strong mechanical foundation who is willing to learn and expand their skills. What the Job Is Really Like

This is a hands-on service position in real agricultural environments.

You'll work indoors and outdoors throughout the year and may encounter livestock areas, manure systems, dust, mud, and changing weather conditions. The job involves physical work, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, and using hand and power tools.

There may also be occasional work at heights or in confined spaces.

During busy seasons, overtime, occasional weekend work, or emergency service calls may be required.

Why Work With Us?

At Embro Farm Systems,

our technicians aren't just repairing equipment — you're helping keep farms running.

When a piece of equipment goes down, the customer needs someone who can show up, diagnose the problem, and find a solution. That's where you come in.

We offer

- $20–$35/hour, based on experience, technical skills, and level of independence
- The $35/hour rate is reserved for highly experienced technicians with significant experience specifically in agricultural equipment and farm systems, who can independently diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment with minimal training.
- Candidates transitioning from another mechanical or industrial trade will be considered based on their existing skills and experience, but may start at a lower rate while they learn our equipment and systems.
- A wide variety of service work — no two days are exactly the same
- The opportunity to develop skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, agricultural, and industrial systems
- A mix of shop and on-farm service work
- Independence and responsibility, with a team behind you when you need it
- Stable employment with an established agricultural business
- The opportunity to work directly with customers and see the results of your work
- Opportunities to grow your skills and take on more responsibility
