Position Overview

Lynn Valley Optometry is looking for a talented part-time AI Developer to help build and maintain custom AI-powered tools that streamline our practice operations. You’ll work directly with our clinical and management team to design, build, troubleshoot, and deploy applications that improve patient experience and staff efficiency.

This is a hybrid role (part remote, part in-office) with flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle.

What You’ll Do

- Build custom applications in Lovable that power our practice operations
- Integrate third-party services (Slack, Shopify, Twilio, Stripe, email, SMS, webhooks, APIs) to automate workflows
- Leverage Claude AI and AI prompts to add intelligent features to apps
- Troubleshoot and debug existing Lovable apps to ensure smooth performance
- Collaborate with our team to understand pain points and translate them into tech solutions
- Test applications before rollout to catch issues early
- Maintain and improve our growing suite of internal tools and patient-facing platforms

What We’re Building

All built in Lovable with AI integration. Examples of projects you might work on:

- Patient portals and management dashboards
- AI-powered staff training and recognition systems
- Automated workflows connecting Slack, Twilio, Stripe, Shopify, and more
- Appointment reminders and follow-up communications (email, SMS)
- Analytics tools for practice insights
- Myopia management tracking apps
- Custom integrations with practice management systems

What You’ll Need

Required:

- Expert-level experience with Lovable – You know the platform inside and out and can build complex, polished apps quickly
- Strong experience integrating third-party services such as Slack, Twilio, Stripe, Shopify, email services,



and APIs
- Proficiency with Claude AI and prompt engineering
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot independently
- Clear communication skills (explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff)
- Ability to work both remotely and on-site as needed

Nice to Have:

- Experience with other AI tools or platforms
- Familiarity with healthcare/optometry software
- UX/UI design sensibility
- Database or backend knowledge
- Experience with patient portals or practice management systems
- Knowledge of webhooks and API integration patterns

Not Required:

- Optometry background or healthcare experience
- Formal CS degree
- Full-time availability

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 24.0 per week
