Overview of Role and Responsibilities

Advantage Tree Care is seeking an arborist grounds person to join our team and develop their skills in arboriculture. You will be working in 2-3 person crews. We service Greater Victoria and sometimes the Gulf Islands. Heavy lifting and operating machinery such as chainsaws and chippers will be required for the position and we work in all weather conditions so experience and enjoyment of working outdoors is a must.

Requirements

- Be highly motivated and able to work to an extremely high standard of both safety and quality
- Experience in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting preferred but not essential
- Be willing to work as part of a team and take pride in your work
- Have minimum full driving lenience
- License to drive airbrakes, is preferable but not essential (open to paying for training)

Personal Skills

- Positive, optimistic attitude is essential to the role and culture of the business
- Comfortable communicating with general public and cooperating with clients and client needs
- Active listening and communication skills

Salary & Benefits

- Starting at $25 per hour based on experience. After 3 month probation period, you will have a pay and performance review
- RRSP matching - Up for consideration for matched RRSP contribution based on intended longevity of stay (equivalent of pension)
