Position Summary

The Asset Management Lead Hand shall assume field level responsibility for maintenance, repair, retrofitting, and cleaning of community grounds and assets for the Serpent River First Nation; in compliance with the annual Asset Management Work-plan, SRFN Standard Operating Procedures and, SRFN Governance & Operations Manual.

DUTIES

- The Asset Management Lead Hand will lead a team of field staff and adhere to all relevant legislative and Serpent River First Nation policies.
- Supervise and train assigned crew members in the field to ensure effective and effective work practices that along with SRFN Standard Operating Procedures and industry best
- Participate in regular team meetings, evaluations, training sessions, development of work plans, and complete daily work orders.
- Liaise with immediate supervisor, Human Resources and Finance departments to assist in attendance and compensation management processes.
- Participate with health and safety training, WHMIS, Confined spaces, Working at Heights, transportation of dangerous goods, CPR and first aid.
- Report immediately to Asset Management Coordinator when unforeseen circumstances occur such as supplies shortages that may cause delay and other potential shortfalls.




- Report on any injury or health and safety infractions that may have occurred to the Asset Management Coordinator.
- Alert the Asset Management Coordinator of problems or potential hazard(s) so that appropriate action will be taken.
- Ensure site, equipment, and materials are maintained and stored securely during and at days' end.
- Participating in hands-on work demonstrates interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with management and employees of all departments.
- Be able to work flexible hours or overtime to attend emergency
- Comply with other work duties as instructed by the Asset Management

Qualification:
- Possess a minimum grade 12
- Five years of experience in a construction and maintenance
- Ojibway language, knowledge of native culture and heritage are considered
- Developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with the general public management and employees.
- Be able to work overtime to meet deadlines and/or emergency
- Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced

- Must provide a clear
- Valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License with a transparent driver's
- Knowledge of the 7 grandfather
