About Us
Children and Family Services focuses on child intervention, early childhood development, foster and kinship care, adoption, improvements for children and youth and prevention of family and sexual violence. It works to ensure that children in Alberta have the tools they need to thrive in healthy families and communities. The ministry engages with Indigenous leaders and communities, the Government of Canada, other Government of Alberta ministries, community agencies and other stakeholders.
Role
With a focus on improving outcomes for Alberta’s children, youth and families, you will provide executive leadership for the Child Intervention Delivery division and oversee the delivery of services for those who are or may be at risk of being abused, neglected or otherwise in need of intervention under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act. You will oversee child intervention services across four regions and Provincial Campus-Based Care. You will ensure these services are coordinated and responsive to the needs of Children and Family Services’ clients. Working within a complex workplace, you will build collaborative relationships across government and with Indigenous, federal, community, non-profit and private sector partners to support coordinated approaches to service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement and advance shared outcomes for children and families. As a member of the ministry’s executive team, you will contribute to department-wide planning, decision-making and leadership. You will develop leadership capacity,
support the recruitment and retention of child intervention staff, foster a culture of innovation and support a collaborative environment focused on service excellence, accountability and improved outcomes for Alberta’s children, youth and families.
Qualifications
You are a seasoned executive leader with experience leading large, complex multi-stakeholder organizations. You have a proven track record of managing significant budgets, leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams, and partnering with senior government officials, executives, and key stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes*.* Experience in delivering services under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act or other areas of social work and human services within a large organization is an asset.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and influential executive with exceptional political acuity,
sound judgment, transformational leadership skills, experience managing a large budget and a strong commitment to public service. Leveraging strong systems thinking and sound judgment, you effectively navigate complexity, mitigate enterprise risks, and drive organizational performance through collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
A degree in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline is an asset.
Salary
$7,212.78 - $9,465.95 bi-weekly ($188,253.56 - $247,061.30 annually)
