Associate Psychotherapist: Tagalog-Speaking

Growth Psychotherapy | Vaughan, Ontario + Virtual Across Ontario

Part-Time Independent Contractor | Flexible Caseload

About Growth Psychotherapy

Growth Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice offering culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and attachment-informed care to adults and couples across Ontario.

Our practice has particular experience supporting Filipino-Canadian communities, healthcare professionals and first responders, individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout and life transitions, and couples experiencing relationship and cross-cultural concerns.

Our philosophy is grounded in creating the conditions where meaningful growth becomes possible: safety, understanding, connection, and evidence-informed care. As our practice grows, we are looking for a thoughtful and culturally responsive psychotherapist to join our small team.

About the Role

We are seeking a Tagalog-speaking Associate Psychotherapist to provide virtual psychotherapy across Ontario, with the ability to offer in-person sessions at our Vaughan office.

This role may be particularly well suited to a clinician who has experience working with Filipino and immigrant communities and understands how culture, migration, family relationships, identity, caregiving, intergenerational expectations, and community can shape mental health.

We are intentionally looking for someone who would like to gradually build a part-time caseload rather than step immediately into a full schedule.

Growth Psychotherapy will support the associate through practice marketing and referrals, including our website, digital marketing initiatives, community presence, and consultation-matching process. Because referral volume can fluctuate, however, we cannot guarantee a specific number of clients or clinical hours.

This may be a positive fit for someone who currently works elsewhere in healthcare, mental health, or private practice and would like to develop an additional psychotherapy caseload within a collaborative group-practice environment.

Who You May Work With

Depending on your clinical interests and areas of competence, your caseload may include:

- Filipino and Filipino-Canadian adults
- First-generation immigrants and individuals navigating migration or acculturation
- Healthcare professionals and other helping professionals
- Individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, or emotional overwhelm
- Individuals navigating family and intergenerational dynamics
- Clients exploring identity, belonging, boundaries, relationships, or life transitions

- Clients seeking culturally responsive therapy in English, Tagalog, or Taglish

You do not need to specialize in trauma processing or EMDR. We value clinicians with complementary areas of practice and do not expect every therapist on our team to work in the same way.

What We're Looking For

Required

- Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- Able to provide psychotherapy to clients located in Ontario
- Able and/or willing to provide some in-person services from our Vaughan, Ontario office
- Professional fluency in English
- Ability to provide psychotherapy in Tagalog/Taglish
- Appropriate professional liability insurance
- Strong clinical judgment, ethical practice, and professional boundaries
- Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and non-pathologizing care
- Ability to work independently while participating collaboratively within a small practice
- Reliable documentation, communication, and administrative practices

Strong Assets

- Experience supporting Filipino or Filipino-Canadian communities
- Personal or professional familiarity with immigration, acculturation, and intergenerational cultural dynamics
- Previous professional experience within healthcare or another frontline/helping profession
- Experience supporting healthcare professionals, caregivers, or other high-responsibility professionals
- Training or experience in CBT, ACT, attachment-based approaches, emotion-focused approaches, relational therapy, somatic approaches, or other evidence-informed modalities
- Experience working with anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationships, cultural identity, or family dynamics
- Experience providing couples therapy
- Additional trauma-informed training

We welcome clinicians with different therapeutic orientations and skilled backgrounds. What matters most is thoughtful clinical practice, cultural responsiveness, professional integrity, and alignment with the values of the practice.

What Growth Psychotherapy Provides

As an associate, you will have access to:
- A thoughtfully designed in-person therapy space in Vaughan

- Virtual practice infrastructure
- Administrative and practice-management systems
- Online booking and electronic clinical documentation
- Practice-level marketing and digital presence
- Individual therapist profile and service visibility through the Growth Psychotherapy website
- Opportunities to receive inquiries through practice marketing and consultation matching
- Opportunities for community outreach, psychoeducation, workshops, and collaborative content where mutually interested
- A collegial small-practice environment with opportunities for clinical consultation and professional growth

Caseload & Schedule

This is a part-time independent contractor position intended to grow gradually.

We are particularly interested in clinicians who can commit to consistent weekly availability and who are interested in developing an ongoing relationship with the practice.

A combination of virtual and in-person availability in Vaughan is preferred.

Evening and/or weekend availability is an asset.

There is no requirement to leave an existing position or private practice, provided outside work does not create conflicts with professional, ethical, or contractual obligations.

About You

Beyond credentials, we're looking for someone who is warm, reflective, dependable, clinically curious, and comfortable bringing their own therapeutic identity to the team.

You don't need to practise exactly like our other clinicians. In fact, we hope you don't.

We are building a team where clinicians share a common foundation of thoughtful, culturally responsive care while bringing different lived experiences, professional backgrounds, clinical interests, and ways of connecting with clients.

Location

Vaughan, Ontario: in-person and hybrid

Virtual psychotherapy may be provided to clients across Ontario in accordance with applicable professional requirements.

How to Apply

Please submit

- Your résumé/CV
- A brief cover letter or introduction
- Your current CRPO registration
- Your current or anticipated weekly availability
- Whether you are available to provide in-person sessions in Vaughan
- Your level of comfort providing psychotherapy in Tagalog/Taglish

In your introduction, we'd also love to hear a little about why culturally responsive psychotherapy matters to you and what populations or clinical concerns you most enjoy working with. Selected applicants will be invited to an initial conversation to explore clinical and practice fit.
