- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems

- Repair or replace mechanical units or components
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications

- Perform scheduled maintenance service
- Test and adjust units to specifications
- Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed

- Coach and instruct apprentices

- Provide customer service

Requirements

- No degree, certificate, or diploma required.

- Must have a minimum of 5 years or more of experience as Automotive Mechanic.
- Must have area of specialization in engine repair and diesel engines
- Must have diesel engine repair specialization and major internal engine repairs or overhaul.

- Must have a criminal record check and driving record check (abstract).




- Must have own transportation and a valid driver's licence.
- Must be willing to work in a rapid-paced environment, with hand-eye co-ordination, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and standing for extended periods.

- Must have own tools and steel-toed safety boots.
- Must have accuracy, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, judgement, reliability, and be a team player.

- Must have an Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification

- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Must be willing to work onsite.
