Job Summary

Lead the Avionics & Communication Integrated Product Team (IPT) for an aircraft development program. Own avionics deliverables across scope, schedule, cost, quality, technical performance, and program milestones. Lead cross-functional teams spanning systems, hardware, software, V&V;, certification, electrical, and integration engineering. Drive avionics architecture, system integration, certification, technical risk management, and customer/supplier interfaces.

Responsibilities

- Lead the Avionics & Communication IPT and ensure alignment with aircraft program objectives.
- Own avionics IPT deliverables, milestones, technical performance, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, V&V;, certification, and integration teams.
- Define and manage avionics architecture covering VHF/UHF, SATCOM, data links, GNSS, INS, navigation, flight control, and monitoring interfaces.
- Lead system-level trade studies, technology selection, architecture decisions, and interface definitions.
- Drive compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254.
- Develop and review SRDs, ICDs, architecture documents, certification artifacts, compliance matrices, test plans, and reports.
- Lead LRU, system-level, and aircraft-level avionics integration.
- Oversee HIL/SIL, ground testing, flight-test support, and V&V; activities.
- Support FAA, EASA, and DGCA certification activities and interface with certification representatives and authorities.
- Manage technical risks, configuration management, engineering changes, and cross-IPT dependencies.
- Support proposals, RFQs, estimation, and technical solution development.




- Lead distributed engineering teams and manage customer, supplier, and internal stakeholder interfaces.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Avionics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12–18+ years of aerospace/aviation experience.
- Avionics systems development and aircraft NPD experience.
- Mandatory IPT leadership or large cross-functional engineering team leadership experience.
- Strong avionics system architecture and integration experience.
- Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761.
- Aircraft certification experience.
- Experience developing or reviewing SRD, ICD, PSAC, PHAC, PDR/CDR, compliance, and verification documentation.

Work Requirements

- Full-time, on-site work in Montreal, Canada.
- Experience with avionics architecture and aircraft/system-level integration.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and program dependencies.
- Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers, certification stakeholders, and engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with VHF/UHF, SATCOM, data links, GNSS/INS, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, CAN, flight deck/cockpit systems, HIL/SIL, EWIS, and electrical power interfaces.
- Additional desirable experience includes eVTOL, UAV, Advanced Air Mobility, DO-326A, Cameo, Rhapsody, 3DX, Teamcenter, Digital Thread/PLM, ground/flight testing, and proposal/RFQ support.
