Freebird Market is looking for a full-time Production Baker & Pastry Cook to join our production kitchen in Etobicoke.

We produce a wide variety of products from scratch, including artisan breads, pizza dough, cookies, cakes, pastries, sweet and savoury baked goods, and seasonal items.

We are looking for someone with professional baking or pastry experience who enjoys hands-on production and working in a busy kitchen. You do not need to be an expert in every area — candidates with a stronger background in either bread and dough production or pastry are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

- Prepare a variety of baked goods, pastries, breads, doughs, and seasonal products
- Mix, portion, shape, proof, bake, assemble, and finish products according to recipes
- Produce items such as:
- Artisan breads
- Pizza and other fermented doughs
- Cookies and bars
- Cakes and pastries
- Sweet and savoury baked goods
- Seasonal and specialty products
- Prepare batters, doughs, fillings, creams, icings, and other bakery and pastry components
- Follow recipes and production quantities accurately
- Maintain consistency and quality across high-volume production batches
- Complete daily prep and production lists within required timelines
- Monitor product quality throughout the baking and finishing process
- Properly label, store, rotate, and organize ingredients and finished products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation
- Work closely with the bakery and production teams to meet daily production requirements
- Assist with inventory and communicate ingredient requirements

What We're Looking For
- Previous professional baking and/or pastry experience
- Experience in a bakery, production kitchen, restaurant, hotel,



or similar commercial environment
- Experience with breads, pizza dough, fermented doughs, pastries, cakes, cookies, or desserts is an asset
- Comfortable working with recipes and producing items in larger quantities
- Robust attention to detail and consistency
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Organized and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable with strong attendance
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the shift
- Full-time availability is required
- Evening and weekend availability is required

Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
- Days, evenings, and weekends based on production needs
- Overtime may be available during busy periods
