We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Candian Mental Health Association Central Alberta Region Board of Directors as Board Members, specifically those with an HR or Legal background. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding and shaping the strategic direction of our non-profit organization. This is a volunteer position that offers an opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.
Requirements
- Reside in Central Alberta
-Clear Criminal Record Check
Responsibilities:
- Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with other board members to establish and review organizational goals, and policies.
- Assist in fundraising efforts by leveraging personal networks, and participating in fundraising events.
- Help recruit and onboard new board members, ensuring a diverse and skilled board composition.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders.
Experience:
- Previous experience serving on a nonprofit board or similar governing body is preferred.
- Familiarity with the organization's mission, goals, programs, and services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to long-term planning.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring financial stability, and advancing our mission. This is an excellent chance for individuals passionate about making a difference in their community. Please note that this is a volunteer position. We are looking for 4-6 hours per monthly of availability to attend meetings and events. Please only apply if you are able to commit for a minimum of 2 years.
