The J Healthcare Initiative

Vancouver

The J Healthcare Initiative (JHI) is a registered Canadian non-profit bridging the gap between established public health best practices and real-world execution to address the overdose crisis in North America. Guided by values of autonomy, community-led governance, and non-judgmental care, JHI equips young leaders, university students, and emerging professionals with the operational tools and infrastructure needed to deploy evidence-based harm reduction. Through core programs including our Virtual Overdose Prevention Circle (vOPC) for individuals using drugs alone, student-led campus chapters, work-integrated internships, we ensure that individuals who use drugs, and marginalized youth have low-barrier access to life-saving support, community support and health infrastructure built alongside those with lived experience.
