New Directions’ Bridge Services for Children and Families offers specialized clinical and home resources to children and youth living with disabilities who have sensory, emotional, behavioral and/or medical needs and their families.

Position details:

- Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., The schedule may change based on program needs.

Job Responsibilities include: (including, but not limited to)

- Establish meaningful, caring, and respectful relationships with children, youth and their families
- Serve as a positive role model for children and their families
- Provide care in a community and residential setting
- Provide medical, emotional, environmental, physical and behavioral support
- Participate in programming to meet the individual goals of children and youth
- Participate in various recreational and physical activities with children and youth
- Cooking, house cleaning, yard work and other household maintenance duties
- Provide assistance with personal care routines such as lifts, transfers, personal hygiene, and nutrition support
- Complete all required documentation effectively

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in a social services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Disability and Community Support, or a related discipline), with experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- A minimum of two years' experience in direct service roles within the disability services field (or a related field), with at least six months of supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Basic understanding of financial management and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, crisis management, and conflict resolution skills.




- Proven leadership ability within a team environment, demonstrated through respect, professionalism, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a person-centered framework.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is considered an asset.

The salary range for this full time one-year term 80-hour bi-weekly position is $17.3239 to $23.3888 per hour (equivalent to $36,033.71 to $48,468.70), dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to permanent full-time staff. The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record and Adult/Child Abuse Registry Checks; and must supply a current driver’s abstract when a Driver’s License is required.
