Role Description The Building Operator – West End, Mississauga will oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and safety of a commercial property located in Toronto, ON. This full-time, in office role includes monitoring building systems, responding to tenant service requests, and performing regular inspections of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment.

The Building

Operator will coordinate and supervise contractors, handle minor repairs, and ensure that all preventative maintenance schedules are followed. The position also involves documenting work performed, maintaining logs and reports, supporting energy efficiency initiatives,



and assisting with building improvement projects. The successful candidate will work closely with property management to uphold comfort, reliability, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

- Strong technical skills in building operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting building equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Proficiency in using building management systems (BMS), work order software, and basic computer applications.
- Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with tenants, contractors, and property management.
- Knowledge of local building codes, health and safety regulations, and best practices in facility operations.
- Previous experience as a Building Operator, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in commercial real estate.
- Relevant trade certification, building operations diploma, or equivalent practical experience is an asset.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, including occasional evening or weekend coverage as required.
