The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader (Foreman) to lead crews on residential construction projects. This role is hands-on, leadership-focused, and quality-driven. You’ll be responsible for guiding your crew, maintaining jobsite standards, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to a high level of craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a crew of carpenters and labourers on active job sites
- Perform and oversee framing, finishing, and general carpentry work
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documents
- Coordinate daily site activities to keep projects on schedule
- Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and Straight Lace quality expectations
- Communicate clearly with project management, subcontractors, and crew members
- Train, mentor, and support less experienced team members
- Maintain jobsite organization, tools, and materials
- Track hours, materials, and daily progress
- Proactively identify and solve on-site issues before they become problems
Qualifications
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification (mandatory) – proof of completion required
- Proven experience in residential construction and carpentry
- Previous experience as a Foreman or Team Leader
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and safety
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Physically capable of working on active construction sites in varying conditions
- Proof of Team Leader Training completion (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
