Child Support Worker

7-9 AM Monday - Friday.

2:30-5:30 or 6pm Monday - Friday

Available to assist the group of 12 to 24 children focusing on 1-2 children who require extra support.

- have knowledge of positive behavioural support strategies and critical thinking skills?
- enjoy participating in the development and implementation of support care plans?
- enjoy creating a warm and supportive environment for children with diverse needs?

Block 8 Academy is a progressive before and after school daycare centre in Port Moody. Our program includes fun community projects, art, music, homework help, and outdoor recreation time. Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:

- ability to model language and effectively pair spoken words with appropriate visual supports to promote vocabulary development and language comprehension.
- ability to break tasks down into smaller chunks
- ability to model age appropriate positive social interactions.




- have experience working in a team setting with little supervision
- have experience with providing structure to an individual in care
- have specific education or extensive experience with behaviour management techniques
- have diplomas, certificates or other evidence of 20 hours of training related to child growth/development
- have a current First Aid certificate
- consent to a Criminal Record Check
- provide 3 professional / personal references

Experience:
- Child/Youth Support: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:
- First Aid and CPR C Certification (preferred)
