What is the role?

Loader Operator

As a Loader Operator, you'll expertly maneuver heavy machinery to streamline loading operations. Join our team for a hands-on role where your skills contribute to the seamless flow of materials, making a significant impact on our operational. Incumbent will be working in multiple locations Alberta and Saskatchewan. Duties and Responsibilities are:

- Keep asphalt paver bins constantly fed with front end loader
- Loading and directing trucks
- Accept daily aggregate deliveries from suppliers and keep aggregate piles maintained
- Help foreman and plant operator with maintenance & repair of drum mix asphalt plant during break downs
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Operate loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones’ surroundings
- Ensure company equipment is operated in a safe manner and in accordance with Carmacks Equipment maintenance practices
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Complete daily safety documentation
- Other duties as assigned

What do we value?

- Minimum 3 years of experience in loading trucks
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract
- Experience maintaining aggregate piles & feeding a crusher
- Experience running a front end loader on a gravel crusher

Packer Operator

- Safely operates roller machine to compress asphalt to maintain a smooth surface.




- Works closely with foreman and other crew members to assist in paving operations.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that roller is in protected, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Monitor all gauges and warning lights.
- Follows all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.
- Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.

What do we value?

- Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of experience in Roller Operation and Asphalt work
- Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices an asset
- Experience working in highway road construction
- Able to work rotational shift; overtime and weekend work is required
- Successful candidate must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements
