The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, organized, and people-focused Clinic Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of Lynn Valley Optometry.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys developing people, improving systems, solving problems, and helping a healthcare practice grow.
Our Clinic Manager should be visible and engaged throughout the practice—supporting the team, monitoring clinic flow, addressing challenges, recognizing opportunities for improvement, and ensuring our values are reflected in the experience we provide to both patients and employees.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development
- Lead, support, and motivate a multidisciplinary clinic team
- Build a workplace culture that reflects our People First philosophy
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, recognition, and professional development
- Conduct employee check-ins and performance reviews
- Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training
- Establish clear expectations and promote accountability across departments
- Identify opportunities for cross-training and employee development
- Handle employee concerns and difficult conversations professionally and respectfully
- Encourage collaboration between doctors, clinical staff, front desk, optical, and specialty departments
Clinic Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic
- Monitor patient flow, appointment schedules, staffing levels,
and clinic capacity
- Ensure effective communication and handoffs between departments
- Develop and maintain clinic policies, procedures, workflows, and checklists
- Identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions
- Coordinate staff schedules, vacation requests, and coverage
- Ensure clinic standards for cleanliness, organization, privacy, and professionalism are consistently maintained
- Take a proactive approach to resolving operational issues before they impact the patient experience
Patient Experience
- Ensure every patient receives a welcoming, professional, and personalized experience
- Support employees with complex patient concerns and service recovery
- Monitor patient feedback and identify opportunities for improvement
- Look for opportunities to Go Beyond the Ordinary in the way we communicate with and care for our patients
- Help develop systems that improve accessibility, communication, efficiency, and continuity of care
Performance & Practice Growth
- Monitor clinic performance, productivity, and departmental goals
- Work with clinic leadership to establish and track monthly and annual targets
- Review reports and key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities
- Support initiatives to improve patient retention, appointment utilization, and practice growth
- Collaborate with doctors and department leads to achieve clinic goals
- Help successfully introduce new services and programs
Technology & Innovation
- Champion our Innovate with Purpose philosophy by identifying technology and systems that can meaningfully improve the clinic
- Support the implementation and adoption of new technology
- Look for opportunities to automate or streamline administrative processes
- Help ensure employees are properly trained on clinic systems and technology
- Encourage the team to bring forward ideas and participate in continuous improvement
- Work with clinic leadership to evaluate new tools based on their ability to improve patient care, efficiency, or the employee experience
Administration & Compliance
- Support payroll, scheduling, employee documentation, and HR administration
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to staff performance and clinic operations
- Ensure clinic policies and procedures align with privacy, employment, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with vendor relationships, equipment concerns, inventory issues, and other operational requirements

Qualifications
- Previous management or leadership experience in healthcare, optometry, ophthalmology, dental, medical, or another patient-facing environment
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinic
- Experience with scheduling, training, performance management, and recruitment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions independently
- Comfortable reviewing reports, tracking performance, and working toward business goals
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology quickly
- Experience with electronic medical record or practice-management software is an asset
- Previous optometry or ophthalmology experience is considered a strong asset
