About Trauma Care Psychology

Trauma Care Psychology is an evidence-based mental health clinic specializing in the assessment and treatment of trauma-related conditions such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, BPD, and trauma-informed treatment for individuals and couples. The clinic is grounded in a clear clinical philosophy: care that is both compassionate and rooted in evidence. We believe that effective trauma treatment requires warmth, attunement, and humanity alongside structured, research-informed interventions that promote real and lasting change.

To meet growing clinical demand, we are seeking a Psychologist or Psychologist in Supervised Practice who shares this commitment to high-quality, trauma-specialized care.

Primary Responsibilities

- Provide individual psychotherapy to adults presenting with trauma-related difficulties, including PTSD, Complex PTSD, BPD and other related conditions.
- Conduct psychodiagnostic assessments, including intake assessments, clinical formulations, risk assessments, and individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in monthly team meetings and ongoing clinical consultation.
- Optional: Provide couples therapy and provide intensive therapy formats for individuals and couples.

Qualifications

- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Psychologist (CPBAO) or current eligibility for supervised practice registration.
- Doctoral degree in clinical psychology.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience; experience with trauma, PTSD,

or Complex PTSD is preferred but not required.
- Foundational training in evidence-based psychotherapy models.
- Strong capacity for reflective practice, clinical judgment, and ethical decision-making.
- Ability to work independently while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative clinical team.

Assets

- Formal training in CPT, PE, DBT, EMDR or other structured protocols for PTSD and Complex PTSD.
- Experience or genuine interest in couples therapy and intensive therapy formats for individuals and couples.

What We Offer

- Competitive compensation based on experience and caseload.
- A steady referral stream with a trauma-focused caseload.
- Comprehensive administrative support, including intake coordination, scheduling, and billing.
- Regular individual supervision from our Clinical Director, included for Psychologists in Supervised Practice.
- Access to trauma-focused consultation and ongoing career development from the Clinical Director.
- A compassionate and collegial clinical environment.

Ideal Candidates Will Demonstrate

- Strong clinical formulation skills and capacity for reflective practice.
- Strong commitment to delivering care that is both compassionate and evidence-based.
- Sensitivity to trauma, attachment, and relational dynamics.
- Capacity to conduct thorough psychodiagnostic assessments through a trauma-informed lens.
- Interest in further developing specialization in trauma-focused and trauma-informed couples therapy.
