Company Overview & Role Summary
CMC Credit Management Corporation, a national leader in debt recovery with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a detail-oriented Collections Account Specialist. In this role, you will manage high-volume commercial and consumer portfolios, combining advanced recovery techniques with strong analytical skills to optimize cash flow, resolve delinquent balances, and preserve customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management & Recovery: Manage delinquent commercial and consumer accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence, negotiating feasible payment plans and settlements.
- Skip-Tracing: Apply advanced skip-tracing techniques to locate and contact hard-to-reach debtors.
- Account Reconciliation & Analysis: Review transaction histories, analyze outstanding balances, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with AR/AP teams to solve billing disputes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously update account statuses in CRM and accounting systems, preparing recovery progress reports for management and clients.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal and provincial regulations, consumer protection acts, privacy standards, and client guidelines.
- Performance Metrics: Consistently meet or exceed assigned key recovery targets and performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
Professional collections experience (third-party agency or in-house credit/AR) within a financial services or fast-paced environment.
- Technical & Financial Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, basic math skills, accounting principles, and proficiency with CRM software, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Communication: Superior negotiation, objection-handling, and phone skills. High English proficiency required; bilingualism is an asset.
- Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business or finance preferred.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary: $45,000 – $47,500 per year, plus potential profit sharing.
- Schedule: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
