Commercial Cleaner (Heavy-Duty)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Commercial Cleaner to maintain clean, safe, and professional environments for our commercial clients.

This is a physically demanding position that involves extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating cleaning equipment. The successful candidate must be comfortable safely lifting and moving items weighing up to 40–50 kg when required.

Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize offices, commercial facilities, common areas, washrooms, kitchens, and other assigned spaces
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors
- Empty garbage and recycling containers and replace liners
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, walls, fixtures, and high-touch areas
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors
- Refill soap, paper products, and other facility supplies
- Perform deep-cleaning and heavy-duty cleaning assignments
- Operate commercial vacuums, floor scrubbers, carpet-cleaning machines, and other cleaning equipment
- Move furniture, supplies, garbage containers, equipment, and other materials when necessary
- Safely handle and store cleaning products according to instructions and workplace safety requirements
- Follow site-specific cleaning checklists and complete assigned work within scheduled timeframes
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages
- Secure the facility and follow all customer access and security procedures
- Maintain a qualified and respectful attitude while working at customer locations

Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to:
- Safely lift, carry, push,



or move items weighing up to 40–50 kg when required
- Use proper lifting techniques, team assistance, or lifting equipment for heavy or awkward items
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, reach, twist, and climb stairs
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely
- Work in environments that may include dust, cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures
- Wear required personal protective equipment

Qualifications
- Previous commercial, industrial, janitorial, or heavy-duty cleaning experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and WHMIS procedures is an asset
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, and customers
- Reliable transportation to customer locations may be required
- Availability to work [evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, or holidays] as scheduled
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- A background check may be required depending on the customer location
