Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Construction Labourer with Traffic Control experience to join our team. In this role, you will support skilled tradespeople, perform traffic control and flagging duties, assist with daily site operations, and contribute to the safe and efficient completion of construction projects primarily focused around sewer and water utility projects, concrete work and general construction tasks. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires robust stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform Traffic Control Person (TCP) duties to safely direct traffic, manage signage and devices, maintain work zones, and follow all traffic control plans and safety regulations
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, organizing materials, and setting up work areas
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate basic equipment commonly used in sewer/water utility and concrete construction (e.g., compactors, cut-off saws, plate tampers, concrete vibrators, pumps)
- Support concrete forming, pouring, and finishing activities as directed
- Assist with sewer and water installation tasks, including trenching, pipe handling, bedding, and backfilling
- Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision
- Support carpenters,



electricians, plumbers, and other skilled trades as required
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized job site
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials as directed
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth
- Perform general labour duties as assigned by the site supervisor

Qualifications

- Previous experience in construction, sewer/water utilities, traffic control or concrete work is an asset
- Ability to operate basic construction equipment (compactors, saws, pumps, etc.)
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials (50 lbs or more)
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, utilities, and safety practices
- Valid driver’s license required

Requirements

- CSA‑approved safety boots
- Valid Traffic Control Person / Flagging Certification (required)
- Working At Heights (WAH) and WHMIS (required or willing to obtain)
- Ability to work full-time, shift work, including extended periods standing outdoors
- Reliable transportation to job sites

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour Work Location: On the road
