Community Builders is a leading Not-for-Profit Construction based Social Enterprise located in Muskoka, Simcoe County, Greater Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie. We provide training, employment, and affordable housing to meet the growing needs of our community’s most vulnerable and at risk populations.

The Construction Trainee will participate in individual and group training both in the classroom and on real job sites to learn all the foundational skills required to start a career in the trades!

This program is designed as pre-employment training so no experience is required! We will pay you to learn!

Duties & Responsibilities

- Attend all classroom and hands-on training
- Complete construction related aptitude tests
- Cleaning and preparing a job site
- Loading and delivering materials
- Become trained and use a variety of hand tools, power tools, machines, and materials
- Become trained and perform various interior or exterior construction or landscape related tasks at any point in the construction process, including but not limited to concrete prep or repair, framing or demolition, backframing, insulation, drywall, painting, sanding, caulking, trim carpentry, tile, flooring, or landscape related tasks
- Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately




- Communicate effectively and respectfully with all team members
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Complete resume, cover letter and interview skills assignments to prepare for future employment

Job Requirements

- Must be able to get to our shop located at 345 Ecclestone Drive, Unit T1 in Bracebridge
- Basic reading & arithmetic skills (Grade 10 math equivalency)
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Motivation and interest in learning new skills
- Intention to start a career in the trades
- Must be able to lift & handle materials of 50lbs

Additional to your wage and training, we will provide you with the following items:

- Free Working at Heights Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, and Health & Safety Training

This is a 3 month contract. Employment will begin October 5th, 2026 and end December 23rd, 2026. Deadline to Apply: September 11, 2026
