As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Consultant, Data and AI Scientist is responsible for supporting the delivery of advanced advice in data analytics, providing research and insights, and ensuring senior management has the relevant information to make informed decisions. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impactful analysis.
As the Consultant, Data and AI Scientist, you will not only analyze data but also build intelligent AI solutions that deliver actionable business insights. You will apply statistical techniques and machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive analytics. You will also design and build AI agents that automate business insights generation and decision support.
You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
Data Science Expertise: Provide advanced analytics solutions to solve business problem leveraging traditional statistical, machine learning and optimization techniques. Gather relevant information related to business processes, functions and operations to evaluate data credibility and quality. Utilize creative thinking to modify or select the most suitable procedure/approach to solve a business problem.
Perform in-depth analysis for the purpose of identifying revenue generating and cost saving opportunities. Actively lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of complex data analytics and visualization solutions. Focus on quality, depth of analysis, and clear communication of actionable recommendations.
You can demonstrate experience in: 3–5 years in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles. You must have at least 2 years of Azure Databricks and at least 1-2 years with GenAI like Microsoft Co-Pilot Studio; coupled with at least 4 years of SQL and Python experience. It’s an asset if you have worked within Capital Markets/Equities.
You have a degree in a quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, physics, business) or equivalent experience. You demonstrate knowledge in organization's Information Technology (IT) environment and understand the integration / interdependencies of various processes across a line of business.
