NAIT’s Department of Continuing Education is seeking a Contract Instructor to teach Meatcutting/Butchering and is willing and capable of teaching specifically in Indigenous communities across Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories.
The role involves travel and accommodation in remote areas, with daytime availability required from Monday to Friday. The term of these contracts will vary in length of time and duration.
Contract Instruction Deliverables
Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials Apply safe work practices to butcher and process game Separate quarters of game into primal, sub-primal and retail cuts A strong commitment to student success, including motivating learners and supporting academic achievement Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related educational technologies Professional Meatcutting and/or Butchering Certification Instructional experience considered an asset Strong English verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
