Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take ownership of a complex, multi-entity financial operation?

We are seeking an experienced Controller on behalf of a well-established, diversified organization with more than 50 years of operations across Atlantic Canada and beyond. This is a unique succession opportunity supporting the organization's northern operations based in Labrador City, NL.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

- Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial operations for multiple companies and business units
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage financial reporting requirements across multiple entities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance analysis
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and related administrative functions
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of approximately 2 - 4 accounting and administrative staff
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and processes
- Coordinate year-end accounting and audit requirements
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and professional advisors
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements across multiple entities
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, systems, and operational efficiencies
- Provide financial guidance and support to operational leaders

Experience & Attributes for Success:





- CPA designation strongly preferred; CPA candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered
- Significant experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Experience supporting multiple entities or companies is considered a strong asset
- Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership and operational teams
- Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to hit the ground running
