Location: Red Deer, AB A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team in Red Deer. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, providing strategic financial analysis, managing accounting functions, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, and statutory reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor cash flow, analyze financial performance, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Oversee inventory accounting, inventory counts, costing analyses, and job cost reviews.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and reporting processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting against budgets.
- Coordinate year-end reviews and work closely with external auditors.
- Provide financial guidance and insights to senior management to support business decisions.
- Participate in system improvements, process optimization initiatives, and ERP-related projects.




- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and corporate policies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent skilled accounting designation preferred.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience overseeing year-end financial statements and working with external accounting firms.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- ERP system experience is considered an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
