Position Overview

West Central Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Crusher Operator to join our aggregate operations team. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate crushing, screening and heavy equipment while supporting production, stockpile management, equipment inspections, preventative maintenance and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor aggregate crushing and screening equipment, including Jaw and Cone crushers, screen decks, feeders, surge bins and conveyor systems.

Operate a 12-unit spread crusher and monitor material flow, crusher feed, product quality and equipment performance.

Operate and work with Sandvik H6800 and Elrus 54/30 Jaw crushing equipment.

Operate front-end loaders for crusher feed, material handling, stockpile building and stockpile levelling.

Operate Volvo AD30 articulated trucks and other heavy equipment used in aggregate operations.

Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational concerns.

Inspect belts, bearings, gear reducers, Jaw plates, Cone liners, feeder components and related crushing equipment.

Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist with scheduled equipment servicing.

Assist with screen changes, crusher set-up and tear-down, and adjustments required to meet aggregate product specifications.

Follow lockout procedures, complete pre-work hazard assessments and comply with company secure work practices.

Communicate effectively by radio with crusher ground personnel, loader operators, truck operators and supervisors.

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in aggregate crushing, screening and gravel pit operations.

Hands-on experience operating Jaw and Cone crushers and multi-unit crushing spreads.





Experience with Sandvik H6800 and Elrus 54/30 Jaw equipment is considered a strong asset.

Front-end loader experience, including stockpile levelling and material management.

Experience operating Volvo AD30 articulated trucks or comparable articulated haul trucks.

Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability and knowledge of preventative maintenance.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an industrial outdoor environment.

Qualifications & Additional Assets

Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

First Aid and Ground Disturbance training are assets.

Familiarity with Hinton and West Yellowhead industrial back roads, resource roads, gravel pits and seasonal access conditions is an asset.

Additional language skills, including speaking multiple languages such as Ukrainian, are considered an asset and may assist with communication within our diverse workforce; however, they are not a requirement of the position.

Work Environment

This position involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions and around dust, noise, mobile heavy equipment and moving mechanical components. The successful candidate must be able to work extended shifts, nights and weekends and travel to different work locations when required.

Pay: $27.00-$28.50 per hour
