Vision Talent's client is seeking both an intermediate and senior DATA SCIENTIST - AI to join their growing team.

They are building an AI Center of Excellence and seeking candidates who can have solid experience in practical application of AI technologies rather than just predictive modeling or dashboard development.

- GenAI implementations
- LLM integrations (Claude, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI)
- AI-enabled analytics
- AI-assisted workflow automation
- Building business solutions using AI tools

then we'd like to talk!! PLEASE note that they require a minimum of 4 days/week on site in the Richmond Hill area (transit accessible). This is non-negotiable.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role that combines applied data science, business intelligence, and AI engineering. The role builds analytics, reporting, and machine learning capability, delivers against the AI CoE methodology and framework, and partners with business teams across customer, operations, growth, and technology priorities.

Work is delivered on the Azure Databricks Lakehouse under Unity Catalog governance, with the Claude API as the primary AI integration layer. Every deliverable is measured in business impact — revenue, working capital, efficiency, and customer value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will accelerate data-driven evolution across the business by using advanced analytics to drive value and working with alternative datasets to curate novel insights. Key projects will include:

Customer Data & Insights

- Segment customer data to drive targeted marketing and personalization strategies.
- Develop and maintain weekly, periodic, and quarterly reports using Power BI or similar tools.




- Collaborate with business teams to leverage data in alignment with growth priorities.
- Explore AI-driven personalization opportunities to optimize customer engagement.
- Conduct in-depth operational analyses to identify performance drivers, uncover improvement opportunities, and address key business challenges.
- Develop insights to optimize revenue and working capital performance.
- Analyze data to determine cost-effective strategies for delivering products or services.
- Provide insights into customer behaviour to enhance sustainable growth.
- Assess current data and technology platforms to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leverage AI and data-driven targeting techniques to identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-potential acquisition and growth opportunities aligned with our clients strategic priorities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data science and analytics.
- Expert proficiency in BI tools, programming, and querying languages including Power BI (or Tableau), Python, and SQL; strongly typed and/or functional languages a plus.
- Strong intuition for analytical methodologies and a desire to solve novel technical challenges.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all analyses and deliverables.
- Familiarity with data analysis and fundamental ML modelling techniques.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Passionate about applying data science to drive business impact; intellectually curious about solving real-world questions from data.
- Solid proficiency in English, ensuring clarity in both technical and business communication.
