We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice to fill in the position of our dental assistant going on leave from Dec 14 - Jan 23. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about dentistry and eager to contribute to a positive patient experience.
Can be a Permanent Full time position going forward.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are readily available.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, utilizing software such as Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Handle administrative tasks including billing, insurance verification, and managing patient inquiries.
- Support orthodontic procedures when necessary and assist with pediatric dental care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software system Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry is beneficial.
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred.
