The Dental Program Analyst will support clinical dental services by researching and developing policies, resources, and legislative initiatives to address priorities and strategic direction of the Dental Services Program and assisting with program design.

The Dental Program

Analyst oversees initiatives related to clinical dental services under the Northwest Territories/Nunavut Dental Professions Act.

Dental Auxiliaries

Act, and the Dental Mechanics Act and coordinates with Health's Policy and Planning division to identify gaps in dental policy and legislation. and assist in the development of identified regulations and legislation relevant to Nunavut such as a Dentistry Act that can provide regulations, bylaws and standards for practice, guidelines and practice advisories. The Analyst works on a team that is responsible for the delivery of both preventive and clinical dental services.

The Dental Services Program Analyst is responsible for:

- Analyzing and assessing legislative and policy requirements for the Dental Services Program
- Developing a full range of Dental Services Program policy documents
- Developing a full range of Dental Professional Practice Policy Standards for practice in Nunavut
- Leading and/or acting as a team member for the research and development and recommendation of Dental Services Program policy initiatives, strategies and options
- Developing a program monitoring and evaluation framework for all dental clinical policy, professional standards,



and standard operating procedures
- Assisting the Director Dental Services in coordinating the planning processes to address the program's policy and legislative needs and priorities
- Preparing letters, responses and presentations, and briefing notes as required

The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through:
- An Undergraduate degree in political science, social science, public health dentistry, law, public administration or related field;
- Two years’ related experience;

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required. The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktitut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
