We are looking for a Department Manager, Grocery to join our Buy-Low Foods location in Vernon, BC.

The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

- Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
- Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
- Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
- Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
- Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
- Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
- Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
- Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time,



and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

- 1-3 years of retail experience.
- Leadership experience is an asset.
- Food Safe Certification.
- A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
- Experience and/or knowledge with:
- Achieving sales targets and profitability.
- Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
- Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).
- Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
- Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

- Proficiency with computer applications.

Compensation Details $24.00 - $32.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
