Job Summary
We are seeking a Design Engineer / Detail Drafter to support the design and development of components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail oriented, and collaborative professional with strong technical drafting and design skills. This role will focus on creating and maintaining accurate engineering documentation, supporting component design, and working closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development.
Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2024, Autodesk Vault Professional, Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 tools, and monday.com CRM, although this is not required. Speaking German or Spanish is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for components and assemblies
- Support design engineering efforts for new and existing products
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, bills of material, and related records
- Ensure drawings meet company standards, specifications, and applicable industry requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, quality, and other internal teams to support product development and updates
- Revise and release drawings and associated documents using approved change control processes
- Maintain accuracy and consistency in CAD models, drawings, and design records
- Assist with component design, fit, form, and function analysis
- Support product improvements, prototype development, and production release activities
- Manage files and revisions using Autodesk Vault Professional or similar data management systems
- Track tasks, updates, and project information using monday.com CRM or similar tools
- Use Microsoft 365 tools for documentation, reporting, communication, and presentation support
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in drafting, design, or engineering support
- BSME or BSEE preferred
- Experience in mechanical or electrical component design preferred
- Strong drafting and detailing skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2024
- Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Office tools
- Experience using monday.com CRM
- Knowledge of engineering change processes and product lifecycle documentation
- Experience supporting component-level design in a manufacturing environment
- German or Spanish language skills
Physical / Work Setting Requirements
- Primarily office-based with regular use of computer-aided design software
- Occasional interaction with manufacturing or lab environments, as needed
- Ability to sit, focus, and work at a computer for extended periods
